Cleaning a new tank to prepare it for my newts and had a mishap and cracked it. Is this fixable with specialty tape? Or should I accept my demise and get a new tank? I only fill it about halfway. It’s 20gal.

You´d need to take the entire tank apart, clean and reassemble ALL sides with a new one. If youre not experienced in this, get a new tank.

Have you tried using a bandaid? If that doesnt work, then yeah, a new tank may be in order.

Congrats on your new terrarium! I would not put water in that. But it will work for land dwellers. I have a cracked tank that I keep tiger salamanders in.

  4. Yeah this is done, you could replace that glass panel by a new one but honestly it’s probably not even worth it

  5. i would say you are lucky, if it was full it would properly explode, and kill everything in it.
Now you have a chance to get a new one.

    RIP

    Rest in Pieces

You *could* replace the panel, but 20g are so easy to get ahold of that I’d pitch this and replace it (or tape it on both sides and keep it for a storage tote, *no water or animals*, for light things like tools and such)

    You are asking?!🤣🤣🤣

Go get yourself out of the mess of cleaning a broken aquarium… good luck!

  8. I saw a guy once use a piece of thick plastic and aquarium safe silicon to fix a spider web like this. He put one on the inside and one of the outside and liberally applied silicon.

I dont recommend this but it held water afterwards. So you do you. 🙂

Ill see if i can find something similar as I think ive seen something on youtube aswell.
