Hi guys here is my 130L tank running a fresh water setup with tropical fish. I have 9 various small Tetras, 3 juvenile angel fish, 3 Rams, 1 Juvenile Electric blue Acara. 6 plants and a huge ship. My question is does it look over crowded? The fish are happy and have their own routines an hiding spots I have no problems at all but I know the AngelFish will get a lot bigger in a year or so and may need more space.

Thinking to maybe upgrade to a 200L? Or am I ok with this tank? What would you guys recommend..

Also if I do have to get a bigger tank will I have to upgrade my fluval U3 to a bigger external filter or will it manage a 200L tank…?

TIA!

  1. For angelfish you want closer to 280L

I dont have experience with that filter so I cant help there sorry

Angel Fish in general definitely need more space.

And while I’m not 100%, I feel like the compatibility of some of these species in terms of aggression maybe isn’t the most balanced.

  3. If you want to keep all these fish, yea, you need a bigger tank. Acara and angels will get big, and they are all territorial fish. Honestly, I’d go with something bigger than 200l. At least 120cm in length, you’ll want to have as much floor space as possible. I’ve kept an angelfish pair in a 100 litre tank with some tetras, trust me, it’s just too crowded.
