I wanted to show off my tank, but this is the first time (as an adult) that I have a betta fish! His name is Bumblebee and I got him from Petco. I named him Bumblebee because i’m a huuuuge transformers fan lol also because it said he was a bumble bee betta
I did a bunch of research when I got him to make sure he lives his best life! This is my set up and what he looked like before I brought him into his new home!! Though if anyone has any tips or suggestions for his tank, I would love to hear it! :>

So cute. 🙂
And not appropriate for a betta (or really any fish) at all.
Bettas need at least 5 gallons. They also need to access the surface so they tend to prefer shallower tanks. Vertical tanks aren’t recommended for bettas.
My biggest suggestion is to just move it all into a 5 gallon tank. It will be equally cute and will be WAY easier for you to maintain and will keep your fish happier and healthier.
Your tank is perfectly fine. You will get the purists, by the books responses here “you need 5 gallons!” “You need 10 gallons!”
No. You don’t.
Your tanks more than enough for that fish to live a happy life as long as you take care of it.
2.5 is adequate like a 300sqft studio is adequate for a person, bigger is usually better ,I saw you plan to upgrade remember betta like more space than depth so a tank that is short and wide is better for them than narrow and deep

PSA you’ve got Java ferns planted in the substrate- stick them on a rock or some piece of hardscape, they don’t root like regular plants and will just rot the way you’ve got them planted
