I thought GloFish quit breeding the bettas because they flopped on the market, but they still held the patent so you can’t breed to sell them.

Honestly people’s circlejerking about glo-fish is over the top.
Compared to the horrible breeding practices that a lot of hyper strained fish have, a bit of genetic tampering is nothing.
Glo-fish are awful, here my albino Popeyes, veiltail, goobledon, giga blue, inverted hunchback betta with an inbreeding coefficient that makes the Ptolemys look like amateurs.

I don’t get why everyone here is freaking out, my only complaint about glofishes is that they’re patented and tend to be horribly inbred because they rarely make fresh batches, then again… most fancy strains of certain fish are already horribly inbred with detrimental defects that look “cute” to begin with.
