Betta imbellis is standing in for the big boy betta patoti/pallifinia

Run down

S+:
Mystery snails, self explanatory

S:
Betta Albimarginata – Hardy, cute, eats frozen, doesn't shred eachother, easy breeders
Tyre track eel – Massive, but such an interactive guy. I love him so much. All wc tho so slight ding
Senegal bichir – Super cool to watch, super interactive, hardy
Goldfish (common) – Giant goobs, self explanatory. Need ponds tho
Koi – Read above
Also S but I forgot: Dojo loaches – Hardy, amazing personalities

A:
Unimac complex bettas – Love big grumpy personalities, but they make me think they have jumped every time and give me heart attacks
Albino cories – Just a classic. Fun to watch swim, Hardy, cool little creatures. Not 100% my jam, which prevents them going to S
Honey gourami – I love my honey so far. Really easy to take care of, really cool to watch
Pea puffers – Hard to take care of, needs big tanks and schools and can be asses, but super cute. Borderline B tier
Rabbit snails – Cool snail go brrr what can I say. Not S cuz not super active and fun to watch

B:
Domestic bettas – Health issues is what put them down here
Fancy goldies – Read above
Pygmy cories – Just a bit less Hardy than the larger albinos, but fun to watch school. They go up in the tank a lot more than albinos
Endlers – I mean, standard livebearer. Hardy, good dither fish, breed quick.
Axolotl – Need cold water, can be stubborn to eat. Very cute tho.
X-Ray tetras – Not too assholey, and quite hardy. Solid tetra, just don't like tetras too much
Bristlenose pleco – Very pleco dependent. A lot will hide from you a bunch, so you are keeping a pet tank. Some are more outgoing. Good algae munchers.
Cherry shrimp – Cool but not super my taste.
Pest snails – Can take over, but are cool to watch.

C:
Discus – Die when young and need so many water changes. Just annoying to take care of. Out of D cuz very pretty
Guppies – Like endlers but more fragile.
Neons – Have a habit of dying, they are so overbred
Scarlet badis – Mine was quite shy and just didn't eat well.
Gold nugget pleco – Expensive, shy, need a ton of flow for comfort
Otos – Otos need a ton of algae, don't eat supplemental.
Assassin snails – Didn't breed for me so I only had like two, and got very boring in terms of snail life.
Bamboo shrimp – Really need supplemental feeding with spirulina ime, and are all wild caught.

D:
Salt and pepper cories – Got a group of 12, every one died in the month, even tho they went through treatment. Idk what happened but won't get more.
Black skirt tetras – Assholes.

  1. Good to see the senegal bichir in the place it belongs. They are a great species to fullfill that predator/monster fish itch but at the same time you have a species that can also work in a planted community aquarium.

  2. Pest snails F, Ramshorn A lol Found they served the same purpose but rams look cooler (population =tank barometer).
