Hello everyone! It’s really hard for me to find a solid answer online about what is too many fish in a tank . I have a 5.5 gallon tank with one betta and one nitrite. My nitrite does a good job cleaning my plants but I want some Amano shrimp to get the bottom.

Would an Amano shrimp cause too much bioload? If not then how many would be possible?

Btw this is Pecan.

  1. I wouldn’t add anything else. Amanos are voracious and could easily outcompete the nerite snail. 5g is already really pushing it with food availability for them to begin with!

But also, what’s wrong with the bottom that it needs an amano to fix?
