(Videos aren’t very graphic, just put a spoiler in case!) This is my first time properly owning a betta and attempting to treat illness on a fish. Around 5 days ago I noticed my fish sitting at the bottom of her tank, and observed signs of dropsy after seeing a few of her scales sticking out on one side. Panicked, tested my water and set up a hospital tank. Water quality is fine and tested normally. Tank is about 5 months old and mature. I had noticed for a few days she was consistently pooping and became disinterested in food. I fasted her for about 2 days, then fed her some brine shrimp. After that she became lethargic. I have been treating with daily salt baths and tannins, and it helped the bloating within the first few days of treating her. Today, while putting her in a salt bath I noticed something which appeared to be poop at her side, but it does NOT seem to be poop. I’m concerned that she is suffering significantly and she literally burst?? Or is this a parasite. I have kanaplex arriving in the mail soon because it’s not carried in my LFS(and was scared I was dealing with dropsy). Thanks in advance for any help. Merry Christmas..!
