The last two are from when he was healthy.
I’ve had my fish for seven months he’s lethargic and won’t eat. He’ll struggle to swim up and kind of gasp for air randomly but mostly stays still. He is in a ten gallon tank with 2 nerite mix snails. The ph level is 7.4, it’s been five days since I got the water tested when I last did it said slightly high ammonia but I’ve been treating it with ammo lock and 25% water change every two days. Temp is 83 degrees Fahrenheit. fish’s condition has been slowly worsening over five days. Will barely move unless we touch the rock or him. Any advice help tremendously, thank you
- Tank size: 10 gallon
- Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes
- Tank temperature: 83 degrees Fahrenheit
- Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: not 100% sure on the numbers but I know that it’s all good but last I checked ammonia was a little high and ph is 7.4 I got it tested at PetSmart
- How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: I’ve had the tank for 9 months and the fish for 7 months
- How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: water changes are typically bi weekly 25% i mostly siphon it and put in quick start, stress coat
- Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: two nerite snail mixes
- What do you feed and how much:I'm feeding him a mix of freeze dried bloodworms, mysis, daphnia, and omega one betta buffet flakes. I feed him a small pinch
- Decorations and plants in the tank: 2 silk plants, 2 safe dull plastic plants, one like plant. one rock cave, one of shaped round edge sculpture thing, one betta hammock.

What have you been feeding him? Also do you see another change in his body, like any fin rot or inflammation?
I’d recommend just doing straight daily water changes. What do you mean the temp has been worsening? Can you answer the auto mod please?
Sounds like you crashed cycle when changed filter. Are you not testing daily?
Also when ammonia showed up were you not doing 50% water changes daily?
Poor fish , he is in toxic water.
Do answer all bots questions to have pros give you best advice
Do you condition /dechlorinate all water changes ?
Ammonia a little high= toxic
Should be 0
PWC should be weekly in small tanks. If parameters are toxic – daily. Also you water change routine fails to mention dechlorinator ?
