Recused this girl on the 23rd from a guy on marketplace that "drunk bought" her. She's only my second betta ever, sweet girl too. I just genuinely can't tell what is happening with her, whether she is just obese, pineconing, or if those are stress marks which just assume they are.

Poor thing was in a two gallon tank that was covered in algae with a filter that hadn't been cleaned or replaced in god knows how long, tossed the whole thing after moving her over

Any advice is appreciated, I honest could just be overreacting 🫩

She’s in a ten gallon that’s a couple of weeks old with a small school of panda corys!

  2. It’s hard to tell from the video, but right at the end it looks like her scales are pine coning a bit, which is not great. This matches up with her size, as pine coning is the result of internal fluid build up. I haven’t treated this myself, but the only advice I’ve ever seen be successful is a hospital tank with epsom salts and klanaplex.

  3. Fast her if you haven’t yet. If she is pineconing, use epsom salt, make sure it has no added scents or anything. The link the other commenter shared is a great resource!
