Hi all, I recently got a 20 gal long aquarium and am excited to get started! I purchased a stand as well, but it looks to me like it leans to one side even though it’s level (included pics of front of the tank and the side I think is leaning)…any tips on how to add extra stability? Or am I just overthinking? I live in an apartment so I’m anxious about something breaking/flooding. Thanks!

  1. If you have an old wooden ruler you can put it on the bottom of the legs it’ll be just slightly more stable than if it’s on top of carpet

  2. No, I don’t think you’re overthinking. That stand looks sketchy, level or not. Here’s another reason to return it: Once you have all the wiring ran from a power strip with drip loops, light timer, etc., and you have all your supplies under there, it will be FANTASTICALLY ugly, especially in an apartment where you kind of can’t get away from it. Get a stand with cabinet doors where you can hide all that.

Good to go buddy. 20gal is not that heavy. The legs are under the weight and the cross on the back will keep it from collapsing. It’s not coming down or going anywhere.
