Hey all,
I’m new to fly fishing and got this fly box as a gift. I’m grateful for it, but I’m not sure which flies to use when.
I’ve watched some YouTube videos, but I still feel a bit lost
Any tips on:
what types these flies are
when to use them
which ones are good to learn with as a beginner
Thanks a lot!

The ones on the top are dry flies, put floatant on them and fish them floating on top of the water when you see fish are coming up to eat bugs that land on the surface of the water
The ones on the bottom are intended to be fished under the water, usually with an indicator (bobber) or a dry fly above it so that you can see when you get a strike.
Orvis and other places have some really great beginner fly fishing videos to help with the basics and the terms.

Just remember, it’s fishing, not catching, and enjoy learning more by trial and error in the most beautiful places!
