I have a 10 gallon planted tank and I’m planning on getting more plants in the near future, I’ve been looking into CO2 for about a month now and although it looks scary I think I’m ready for it and I know everything in my tank will benefit from it. My question is, is it possible to cheap out on CO2 or do I just have to bite the bullet and pay around $100-150 for a good setup? I don’t mind doing any DIY.

TLDR; new to CO2, is top of the line necessary or is cheating out possible?

  1. Bite the bullet and get the good setup it’ll be less headaches and actually cheaper in the long run. But it is also not necessary unless you got plants that absolutely require it

  2. Either do it “right” or don’t do it at all.

Don’t go the DIY route, it ends up being more expensive in the long run for a fraction of the results.

100% go pressurized if you can.

  3. Expensive-Sentence66 on

Gas cylinder and regulator. Do it right.

Also, CO2 doesn’t fix problems you already have.
