Yesterday I got my first float rod, but when I tested it, this happened. Afterwards, the reel jammed, and the line only goes up, not down.
Please help me unravel this.

Unscrew the drag cap. The black cap on the top then you can slide the spool off. This will give to access to the gears where the line is hung up on cut the line off the gears and resemble the spool and cap. After that id probably change the line personally. If new sore bought more then likely the line has crazy memory and it may happen again. Good luck and fish on.
