I currently have 7 peppered corydoras, 8 ember tetras and 10 celestial pearl danios (and a few pond snails that hitched a ride on the plants). Its a 105 litre tank. Wanted a nice attention grabbing fish for the centerpiece. Was originally thinking of a gourami but I think the CPDs are too small and will probably become lunch. Any ideas?

Honestly not much that’s smaller than a honey gourami other than more schoaling fish? Sure you could go with an apistogramma or something instead but you got the same risk there.

  2. Perhaps something like mollies or swordtails? A trio? They are a bigger fish, but not too big They should have smaller mouths than gouramis and aren’t as predatory. Dwarf gourami would be my first choice, mine was super interactive. Honey gouramis could also work

  3. Dwarf cichlids- Bolivian ram, Apistogramma sp.(male), golden eye cichlid(male), Kribensis (female).

Gourami- paradise gourami, sparkling gourami, honey gourami.

I do not recommend a breeding pair with the cichlids or gourami.

    These are all common-uncommon fish.

Honey gouramis can be a nice pic

Small, peaceful, beautiful, fairly hardy and easy to care for
