Unfortunately…. I noticed a few planaria in my 25g tank 🙁 Extra unfortunate because I was hoping to add cherry shrimp by next week, but now I've gotta get this under control first.

I'm gonna be ordering either No Planaria from online, or stopping by a vet tomorrow to see if I can pick up some fenbendazole (if people recommend one over the other then I'd appreciate the insight! 🙏). But that being the case, I've heard that planaria treatments can nuke your snail populations even if you dose correctly.

I've got a decent sized colony of both MTS and bladder snails in my 25g—maybe a little too many in total if I'm honest lol. I really love the MTS and I don't mind them in large numbers, but I wouldn't mind getting my bladder population down. That being said…. I'd rather not kill all of them if the planaria treatment is going to do so.

I tried to set up this temporary emergency tank to house at least a few of my snails (20 MTS and 5 Bladders) while I treat my main tank. I added an air stone, chucked in a dirty and used mulm-filled piece of filter floss from my (newly) cycled 25g, tossed in a few plants (java moss, rotala, and tiny vals in the back). The drift wood was also taken directly from my same cycled 25g.

I know snails are hardy, but does this seem like an appropriate emergency snail tank? Is there anything I can change or do to improve it?
