I fish the white river in Arkansas. Met an Eastern European guy on the river. He was SLAYING IT when the rest of us were getting skunked. Fast forward we have become friends. I ask him what set up he uses and this is his response. I have been fly fishing 100 plus days a year for quite a while now. Never heard of anything like this. My mind is blown. What are your thoughts? I’m going to give it a shot. I don’t even like 7X. But 8X? Very cool stuff.

Assuming he was tight line/euro nymphing? Otherwise I want video of him casting a 22ft leader with a 9wt
I generally use a 10 foot 5 weight nymphing rod. 12 foot 6X leader and I will run a double nymph rig.
Then I have a 9 foot 6wt streamer rod with 8lb test leader.
Damn.. I dunno, but something about the specificity makes me a believer..
