This is my 15gal long heavily planted tank
Fire red shrimps breed totally out of control !!
I have 8 ember tetra which are very docile so i got 8 CPD !!

They are absolutely stunning to look, but i thought they would def pick off shrimps as they are more bold and people seem to think they hunt shrimps aggressively !!

Well in my case, its the opposite, i still face massive shrimp population growth !
So just wanna bust the myth !
You can def keep both together !

I have 6 of them in my planted shrimp tank. I have only seen one of the cpds attack a smaller shrimp, just a couple of times. Each time the cpd stands no chance and the shrimp gets away. I have seen them swim and school over about 10 baby shrimp, definitely small enough to fit in their mouths, and they didnt seem to try mess with any of them. I still see tons of babies all the time. The only time I’ve seen them go after a shrimp, the shrimp was too big to be eaten anyway, and it looks like it was cause the shrimp was swimming in the way of the cpd and it got territorial. I have not seen behavior yet to suggest the CPDs are hunting or even eating my shrimp
