Aquariums: Fresh sponge vs 2 year old “seasoned” sponge
I cleaned it in tank water every 2-3 months and it was finally time for a new one. I put the old one in the filter with the new sponge and will take it out in a month or two to minimize any effect on my tank.

Why a new sponge? Just rinse and squeeze it in tank water and your fine.

Took me a minute to realise what sub this was… I thought that was a washing up sponge, and was wondering what in the salmonella is a “seasoned sponge”
