Shortly after I posted my 40 gallon breeder here about 2 months ago, I decided to make some changes. The Limnophilia and Hydrocotyle Tripartita never really looked the way I wanted and ended up making the whole tank seem too dim. I replaced them with Java Fern, Bacopana, and Helanthium Tenellum. I also removed 80% of the floating plants. Leaving just enough for a couple shady spots in the back. More importantly I added a basic CO2 system that runs off baking soda and citric acid. I wasn't sure how effective a system like this would be but I gotta say the changes are noticeable.
A month after starting CO2 and im really pleased with how things look. As you can see my plants have really taken off (mostly due to CO2 I imagine) especially the Hydrocotyle Leucocephala which has now filled out and reaches the surface. I think im most happy that my Tiger Lotus is finally developing im looking foward to seeing how things pregress from now on. I'm hoping for a nice carpet from the Helanthium.
