Monsters i caught these fish on the 40 dollar fishing florida rod and reel combo from Walmart thst came with a decent amount of tackle in a clear case. I was using dead shrimp on the bottom with 1 Oz pyramid weight and a double hook bottom rig not sure what its called. But the reel size is a 5000 reel and needed a new rod and reel cause my 10 year old rod and reel finally wore out. The biggest ine was 56lbs on the scale I didn't keep him I only kept two out of the 10 I caught In a 5 hour period. The ones on table one weighed 32lbs and other was 41lbs on my scale. My first time ever keeping bull black drum like this and will never do it again. Nasty to clean slimy and worms. I know you can cook them out but there was also other parasites in the meat that looked lile little beetle things and the meat had a strong dingy smell. These fish fought and dug deep and when they saw pier they started raking lots of drag again. My phone died after I caught the first one with i had pics with the 56lber. It was the biggest fish of my life I caught yesterday 56lbs. Fought it for a good 20 minutes on the pier cause he took for ever to get worn out it was a blast and now I see why people enjoy targeting these bull black drum like this especially on a medium size rid and 5000 reel was perfect not to big where yoy dont get a fight but not to small where they break the reel.

Did you bleed them properly and put them on ice immediately after?
