Hey all, I got some good advice from all of you about a year ago on my tank. I removed the rainbow substrate and got rid of plastic castle.

My wife and I worked together to pick out some new plants after the previous post. Unfortunately the new plants didn't survive. I change the HOB filter to a canister andy wife went to the LFS and picked out the driftwood herself.

It took almost a year and the driftwood finally sank, so I'm satisfied enough to share a photo! Honestly I love the tank, but my wife still hates all the plants and the tank overall.

  1. The large plant in the right of out of proportion to size of the tank.

The long thin one is a love it or hate it when it reaches the surface. I don’t like plants that out grow the height of the tank but many people love their jungle val.

The small plant just needs to be moved back enough so it doesn’t touch the glass.

You could have secured the wood to a stone to sink it.

Ill just be blunt doesnt really matter if she likes it or not, you have a beautiful tank that is much much better for the quality of life of the fish. Literally all you could do is more plants, you have a very natural habitat for them.
