The strangest thing happened last night. This is my 6 gallon aquarium I keep next to my workstation. Everything was fine when I went to bed around midnight. This is how I found it this morning around 8. There is no puddle or any water on the desk. The floor around the canister filter under the disk was wet, so was the carpet a foot away. But not enough to explain nearly 5 gallons of water leaking out. Filter was still working and there were no visible leaks. I have taken out everything out of the tank and filled it and it doesn't seem to be leaking. Though the water level does not seem to be straight. Any possible explanations? Anything I should be looking into?

Given how often this seems to be happening I’m half sure someone is sneaking around and draining the tank when people aren’t looking.
Evaporation is fast, but not that fast. Your filter was leaking and that water is in your floor mate
What lives in the tank? Do you have a cat or other loose pet?
