Hey everyone. This June I’ll be taking a road trip from Chicago to Phoenix for a family reunion. I’ll be dragging my 17’ boat with me and looking to try some new water. I’d love to try and find a largemouth over 10 lbs. I have a week to get down to phoenix and week to get back to Chicago.
I plan on hitting lake of the ozarks on the way down. I have eyeballing bull shoals, grand lake o the cherokees, efaula lake, lake texoma, lake ray Roberts, Theodore Roosevelt lake, canyon lake, and Apache lake.
Would love some suggestions and input on which lakes to focus on

Carlyle Lake in Southern ILL is solid. And definitely drive the hour out of your way to get to Table Rock Lake on the Missouri/Arkansas border. That place is bass fishing paradise.
That’s a lot of fishing licenses 😂
Roosevelt, Apache and Canyon are all good spots but Roosevelt is the biggest out of the three. We had a boat close to the size you have so we stuck to Apache and Canyon for that reason. I should say we didn’t have a big motor on the boat so that’s why we stayed on those two lakes. But there is big bass is both lakes for sure. Hope that helps
