So this is my 45 gallon tank. My apartment management only allows up to 20 gallons. Any ideas on how I can hide it during inspection? PLEASE HELP

I saw someone cover it with boxes so it looks like a stack of boxes. It was for the same reason.

is it inspection or are they coming in for maintenance? ive just never heard of apartments coming through to ‘check’ i feel like thats not legal but regardless, 9/10 the people who have to do these things dont care enough about the paperwork unless its some sort of hazard, also, fudgy brownies work as a really good bribe (i had 3 cats in a studio and id pay my bribe fees through baked goods lol)

What’s the inspection for? Could you just throw a blanket over the top of it with some clothes on top of that and make it look like a junk pile?

I would just say it’s 20 gallons. If they say it looks bigger, say it’s because it’s 20 gallon tall, you are probably used to seeing 20 gallon longs. 😂😂 Take advantage of their ignorance.

Good luck OP. Really stupid thing to do, is it really worth risking becoming homeless?

Someone posted a long while ago this stealth build. It looks almost like a shelf and they had shoeboxes and stuff on it.

Do they only allow up to 20g of liquid being in a container (tank)? Or do they only allow up to SIZE 20g containers (tanks)
Because if it’s the former, empty out 25g. If it’s the latter, unfortunately you’d have to get rid of it. Personally, I’d lie and say it’s a 20g, but don’t mention the tank’s size or draw attention unless they do.

Claim ignorance tell em it’s 20g and if they say it’s bigger just say “it was sold to me as a 20g”

Feign ignorance? Say when you bought you were told it was a 20 gallon tall?
Should you have gotten a tank bigger than your apartment policy allows? No, you really shouldn’t have.

What is the inspection?

Id empty out 25 gallons if you have a couple 5 gallon buckets and store them somewhere they dont check and say theres only 20 gallons in the tank and that you got the tank for free from a friend and only filled to the 20 gallon mark cause of the rules
