Hey everyone, I’m fairly new in the hobby. I do have a few tanks when I was little. But this is my first “big boy” setup. And three days after I set it up, the water is extremely clouded and the test show ammonia at 0.2, nitrites at 8 ( possibly higher) and nitrates more than 80 I believe. I did use the beneficial bacteria starter according to the instructions, and obviously I used the conditioner and even overdosed it a little. Any help and guidance would be appreciated as it’s the first time everything is going like this for me.

sounds like its cycling properly a few water changes to balance everything out and itll be fine once u can dose 2ppm ammonia and read no nitrites and no ammonia the next day its ready for fish i would also make sure to keep nitrates under 60-50ppm before adding fish
It could be normal. Which conditioner did you use and how much did you overdose? I would just let everything run for now. As long as there are no animals in there, it should calm down in a few days or weeks.
I had the same thing in my new tank just a few weeks ago, it’s just a bacterial bloom and it settled down after a week or so.
