As stated, I’ve been pretty disappointed in my tank lately. Both visually and stocking wise. Current stock is 1x bristlenose pleco, 9x glass catfish, 3x kuhli, and 6x threadfins (only 1 male)
I initially started over wanting to get honey gourami, but that has proven to be difficult to even find locally. Twice so far, I’ve asked to special order honeys from LFS and twice they have gotten thick lipped. Going to my usual store today, as their restock alert stated red honeys, so crossing ny fingers there.
Apart from that, the threadfins were a bit of an impulse and somewhat regret them because of how lackluster the females are in comparison.. and only having 1 male (this was the entirety of stock that store got in for a shipment) it just does nothing visualy for the tank I feel.
I’ve also struggled to find nice pieces of driftwood to really put together a scape I enjoy. This one arch is pretty much the best I’ve got, and the smaller bit in front is hollow on the insde with different entry points the kuhli’s enjoy.
Am I just in my head, or is it as ‘bleh’ as I think it is?

Looks super cool, sorry I can’t contribute
Looks great, but since it’s a long tank, maybe try adding 2 main focal points, move the driftwood to the left and create a dragonstone formation with some Java ferns attached
I put two red tiger lotus bulbs and solve the color problem. Good luck for the gouramis you want, I hope you’ll get soon
Looks great, you can add a black background, much brighter, lights, and different different colored plants. In order to brighten up your tank. stock wise I definitely think you should rethink your stock since most of it is underwhelming definitely recommend add the gouramis and remove some current stock and replace with additions you actually feel good about.
Personally I think your tank looks great. I can see why you’d want a little more driftwood, you don’t have much vertical decor in there… but it’s definitely not a tank to feel depressed about.
Work on growing the plants to fill out the negative space. I think you could stand to have a few more planted back there if you don’t want to wait for the stuff you have there to grow. Also, you should put a black backing on the backside of your tank. It’ll cover up the filter and wires and make your greens (as well as your fish) stand out a lot more.
Increase that positivity though, you’ve got a really pretty fish tank. The wood that you have in there is great, and I love the substrate texture and space for swimming that your setup allows.
