Betta Fish: This former cup fish thanks you.

I’m not sure he ever experienced life outside of a cup. He’s been rubbing himself over all the plants and even the thermometer. Not in a concerning way, but in a “omg texture” sort of way. Big shout out to all those who mentioned in comments to make sure everything was smooth.

My 4yo son picked him out yesterday. Not sure if he’s the one I would have picked on my own, but it’s been delightful seeing his colors pop out, already, as he got away from the cold cup.

I think his front fins are a little clamped but I don’t see any signs of infection, and he’s swimming around and even ate a little this morning, so I’m hoping it’s just stress from the dirty cup. I hope I’m not kidding myself that they already look a bit better this morning.

My son wanted to name him Sushi, one he named in our community tank that died, but I convinced him that Sashimi was a good alternative.
