I have a 65L (about 17 Gallons) tank setup and waiting for a betta fish, but i have noticed algae or biofilm on the drift wood and have been considering getting some pygmy corydora as I saw that they are okay to be with betta fish, although i've seen some conflicting advice and just really don't want to stress out my future betta. Will the algae be a problem and if so are corydora's a good choice or should i get something else???

Pygmy cories are a great choice.
Its possible, the best bet would be to add them before you add the betta so the betta recognizes that they were there first. Less chance for them to get attacked
Yes. Also can get a school of rasbora. Unless your betta is very aggressive. They all own different layers of the tank. I’d suggest 10 amano shrimp too. They are wonderful cleaners and fend for themselves. No worries with betta imo. Ensure heavily planted and have resting spots for betta. Cover stratum w/ sand to ensure Cory’s do not fuck themselves up. Their barbs are sensitive and fragile. Sand is a must
6 Cory. 15 rasb. Some nerite snails and shrimp. Good to go. Shrimp are very sensitive. Ask AI to build you a guide on best way to add. Def snails first, then shrimp, Cory, rasb, ensure betta is last 100%
I have 9 orange Venezuelan corydoras in my tank with my blue halfmoon plakat betta and they get along just fine.
Depends on the betta. They all have different temperaments. I couldn’t keep anything with my betta, he’s a real jerk.
Of course!
