Sounds like some sand or other debris got inside. It is probably time to grease the internal pieces anyway, so take the chance when you do to inspect for damage and debris.
Does sound a tad grainy but if you are referring the the metal thumping sound that is somewhat normal. Every cheap daiwa reel I’ve had does the same.
Dirt, bearing, lack of grease… any or all… time to service it…
