  1. This is lovely! The only thing that could make it even better/safer for your betta is if you lowered the water level by 2-3 inches (so the glass acts as a barrier) or get a cover/lid. Bettas are notorious for accidentally jumping out of their tanks, even if the tank is a perfect paradise like yours is. He does have larger fins/tail which will prevent him from jumping as well or as high as a plakat betta, but he is definitely still capable of jumping if he chooses to do so and I’m sure you don’t want to wait for an accident to occur when it could be prevented in the first place.

Even a lid isn’t always foolproof, if there are any gaps big enough a betta could jump though – but it’s definitely still safer to have a lid than not. Just like a seatbelt can save a life in a car accident but isn’t guaranteed – it’s still better to use it than not.

These are all the proof you need: https://www.reddit.com/r/bettafish/search/?q=Betta+jumped+out&cId=4a30ac13-bc77-4ae2-bb1e-cf921ba0e199&iId=5763f523-cc36-481e-aad7-86b71a57c874

This post was a perfect betta paradise tank just like yours, but filled too close to the top and no lid
