I just bought this aquarium yesterday and filled it up, 20 gallons. I examined it really well before getting it to make sure there were no cracks. After filling it up, this appeared, I definitely did not see it there yesterday. It’s pretty big. Is this a crack or is there a way the silicone can be visible only after filling the water up? I can only feel it from the outside, and the aquarium stand is leveled.

If it’s damage, it’s only a scratch. Probably won’t affect structural integrity.

If it felt like your finger went up, it’s silicon, if the opposite, it’s a scratch. No way for me to be sure. If you can scratch of a bit, try. If some comes off it’s definitely a silicon.

Either silicone or a scratch. But kind of looks like silicone. You could confirm with your finger

It looks like silicone to me, but why not reach in and feel to find out? If it doesnt feel like silicone then you should look into getting another tank very soon.

Also!!!! I see fish in there. If you bought it yesterday, have you cycled your tank at all? You can probably return and replace the tank, but if you have fish that will be harder. Research the nitrogen cycle!! I see what looks like an ember tetra ☹️

If I’m reading this wrong please correct me, and I’m sorry, but if I’m correct, please do some research on the nitrogen cycle and cycling a tank fish in if you have to (return them if you still can!) Consider live plants, get a liquid test kit if you don’t already have one (API is the best!). Do some general fish keeping research!

  5. Looks like silicone to me. Try to scratch it and see if it peels off. You wont be able to peel a crack off
