I have had multiple betta fish colors and breeds, but i found this guy at petco today looking very black with a hint of green. Got him home into a 10 gal with some food and now he looks like this. Does anyone know what breed it is? It was labeled as Rose petal

I think there’s a variety called hulk betta or glo-betta? I’m pretty sure it’s not something supposed to be bred for anymore

This is a “glo-betta” or the descendant of one.
Also, in the future, you need to let your tank cycle for 2 weeks at the bare minimum, preferably at least a month before getting your fish.
Look up “fish-in cycling” to make sure your new boy stays healthy.
