We have a pond and stream that runs through our property, and a curious kiddo who loves water, animals and learning about nature and all its wonders.

I grew up playing in ponds and catching frogs and newts. I wanted my kiddo to have some of those same experiences that shaped me as a person who loves water, animals, plants and nature.

We have a “10 minute rule” which allows time to observe, learn and ask questions, before releasing the critters back where they were.

Early learning creates a life long love and respect for these beautiful creatures. Cultivating this passion and respect is so important for our young ones, now more than even. They are the ambassadors of our planet’s health and future.

We have a river 15min from our house that we go to on sunny days and have a very similar approach with our son! Very important for us to foster a genuine interest and compassion for the living things around us in this household 🙂

Mind you- we do NOT have this much biodiversity in the little area we go to, what a privilege!!!

I was going to shitpost and be like I hope you taught them not to put those together in a tub 🤔
But your message is so densely wholesome, necessary and welcome that I could not do it out of the bad faith behind it. Thank you for educating your kids with respect for the life being educated about!
