Should I remove the manufacturer tape from spool?

I bought this reel and it came with tape attached to the spools, on the deep spool I removed the tape since I'll be using mono, but on the shallow spool should I keep it since I'll be using 0.08mm braid? I'll be doing an adapted uni knot with 3 wraps which in my experience it already prevents the braid from slipping. It's my first time buying a reel with tape pre attached to it, so I don't really know if I should remove it, and it doesn't have texture, it's like normal tape I guess, it sure grips more compared to bare metal, but I don't know.
