Betta Fish: Is it a male or female betta? ( plakat halfmoon???)

Need your opinions..

Bought without label….
I think this is a young male from photos and videos which I have seen but 3 other very experienced fish keepers who have seen it live said it's a female. Basically enquiring for a friend.

It does have an egg spot and it blew a bubble nest very quickly when just bought… it doesn't flare much , there is a beard I was told when it flared (rarely ). my reason for it being male is the flowing, long and thick pelvic fins and general large finnage, and subjectively a thinner tail peduncle (my own observation being most female lack a tapering tail peduncle )… I know all these occur in both sexes… I wonder if the dragon scales will make it hard to candle for ovaries !?
