Lotta people hearing and seeing frogs and buying rubber variants to throw this time of year, and i figure half of you guys check reddit before buying something so I figured I’d write an honest review of a lure i purchased recently and maybe you considered too.

I got this one a few weeks ago after having thrown Lunkerhunt frogs and its been an experience every time it’s hit the water (this is a purely neutral statement)

It doesn’t walk well, it’s oddly shaped, but it has the presence and leg cadence of an adult frog when reeled right. It looks hunky-dory when it’s being deadsticked. I fear the problem is that it’s too big for its own good most of the time, especially the hooks. Any smaller fish takes a bite, gets the tip, and goes bye-bye. It could be that it’s a strike of aggression or self-defense or they’re just waiting for it to bleed and sink, but it takes a decent fish to engulf and run with it.

I’ve had like 8 blowups and zero fish in hand since i’ve used it, and I maintain only three or four of those missed strikes was my fault. This will always be part of frog fishing but this thing heightens the contradictions like Marx says. I still vaguely recommend it and will keep throwing it because it does feel very equipped for the big ones (wherever they may be), but having it weed out the dinks for me is annoying.

TLDR; Big, plodding frog for big, actively feeding fish.
