We got fish as our kids wanted pets and I’ve found d it rather enjoyable.
Just wanted to know how we are doing.
Unfortunately we got all of our set up and fish from pets at home which hasn’t been great, quite a few have died over the period but these guys have been doing very well for a while.
We currently have 3 Platys, 5 Danio and 3 cloud minnows. It’s a 56l tank. Temperature and water tests are all very good, but we do live in a hard water area.
Our Platys are currently are all girls, we had a male but he died a few months ago. However 2 weeks ago we found some fry in the filter, we’ve saved 2 and put them in a breeding box and we have 2 more in the tank that are growing a lot faster.
Are we ok with these fish in this size tank?

I think it looks beautiful!! However there are a few things I would do differently when it comes to the fry. I would switch to a sponge filter or a filter that has a sponge attachment so that the fry won’t get sucked in. Also buy frozen baby brine shrimp for the fry-just drop 1 cube in- it will help them grow fast!
