I've had this twin tail half moon male for two or three months now and he's doing great so far. He's getting a lot more blue as time goes on(picture 3 one month ago v yesterday), but today he was a bit lethargic. So, I cleaned my tank about 40 ish% water change, swapped out filters and my temp is riding the consistent 79-80°. My tank is all live plants, snails, a coreycat, and a few tiny algae eaters to maintain the ecosystem.
But since changing his water today, he's tried a new stunt. He's beached himself on the floating Lilly pad that doesn't have much water on the top so it's not really made for that? He's got a floating log and fake leaf to rest on close to the surface of the water and got himself off within a moment to swim around just fine but I'm worried still. This is HIS tank made for him in mind, so with that in mind, does the Lilly pad need to be removed?

Nope, don’t remove it! They love to rest like that and give their parents a heart attack 😉
