he's not in the best shape, but you should've seen him in the cup on the shelve.
laying on his side. clamped fins. looked almost dead.
i gave my best puppy dog eyes to the associate and the manager on duty agreed to let me take him with no charge, as long as i bought the millet i was holding.
however, the moment i brought him home, the second he could see the tank around him, he came back to life. since he was still in the cup, i don't think it could've been him feeling that the water was cleaner. i think i might have a drama king on my hands.
further evidence of my drama king claim, as you can see in one of the photos above, the african dwarf frog invaded his personal space, so he retaliated by slowly drifting to the bottom and 'dying' again, all while maintaining direct eye contact with me.
he's adjusting well to my community set up otherwise though! i can already tell he's a curious guy. i have a backup 10 gallon i can separate him in, just in case any of the fish get stressed.
i'm open to name suggestions! i was thinking 'endler' but idk if that's silly or if there's a cooler option im just not considering
he's so tiny <3

Nice happy cute lil rescue!
Little guy looks like a “Marble” to me. He looks like those decorative glass marbles you see in craft stores.
How did you convince the store to surrender him??
I asked at my local PetSmart recently and was told it’s against their policy so they couldn’t.
