I heard that snowpack was on the low side for much of the west. How are water sheds taking it? Curious how fly fishermen are feeling.
Here in the southeast we’re seeing a pretty significant drought and I’m concerned for summer.
Is there a section of the country that’s not seeing lower than average flows?

I fish mostly still water but it has been a very, very dry spring preceded by an unprecedented dry winter here in west Tennessee. I’ve never seen the ponds, sloughs, lakes, and rivers I fish so low and I’ve lived here 27 years.
Extremely low water levels all throughout Colorado — historic low snow & warm winter. I think we broke the state record for the most 70°+ days for this point in the year
New England is about the same as usual. I fish the mountains and I’ve been up there but it’s still gonna be a few more weeks before the streams are fishable.
I’m in NC but grew up in Western and Central PA. Bone dry down here, but my old man told me the PA Wilds water is flowing pretty hard.
Figures as soon as I move down here it is deought, drought, heat wave, drought, hurricane, drought.
Fingers crossed we get some decent melt off. Ridiculous how low things are on front range of CO were I’m at.
Scared. Our snowpack was about nonexistent this winter, and the N. Platte is already looking low.
Here in Alberta we have way above average snowpack. Could be flooding depending on rain
I’ve had nothing but extremely high waters flowing too fast to fish. Really has kind of been a trip killer the last few times.. 😅
My local river at the base of the sierras is so full and fast that dry flies are useless right now. Zoom past you so fast you cant even mend your line in time.
low snow pack in California, going to be a rough summer and brutal fall with low flows and warm waters. Get it while you can!
Crazy low snow pack in WA/ID. We got some late snow to not make it the worst ever, but it’s bad.
We will definitely see river closures early this year
wish our country would take water seriously…
Super wet spring here in Ontario. Tomorrow is trout opener and we’re supposed to get another 15mm of rain overnight. I’m still going out in the morning, but not expecting too much. Mostly just excited to get back on my favourite rivers
