I have been doing a lot of research of illnesses on bettas just to be aware and on top if anything happens to my fish. Anything from dropsy, velvet, gill flukes, columaris, etc. But now im hella paranoid that he has something and i dont know. I have a 10 gallon thats heavily planted, i check the water with a test kit (pH,nitrite, nirate, phosphate, ammonia). i feed him bloodworms once a week and fast him once a day every week. Regular days he gets 2-4 pellets (north fin food). Im just asking for reassurance haha. Please dont be too mean because i have only been doing this for only 4 months.

He looks fine. Fish get sick when their homes are inadequate, their water quality bad and don’t have someone who cares for their lives. You care and are putting the work in.
Don’t worry about sickness unless there’s a reason to.
Great setup and healthy looking betta. Your care sounds decent and a million miles away from the questionable care seen on here a lot. Be reassured, great job!
I’m going throught the exact same problem as you with all my fish tanks, there is an overwhelming amount of information out there.
My dad used to keep fish probably about 45 years ago, and he wasn’t testing water or using conditioners or water treatments or anything like that. He said barely any fish died and he looked after them very well.
I think sometimes doing too much can be a bit of a problem and it’s best to leave it alone
Oooo is he orange? I had a soild orange betta as a kid and learned they’re an uncommon color.
He looks super healthy and it sounds like you’re doing a great job caring for him! Some times you just get unlucky and your fish may fall ill despite your best efforts, but there’s no reason to worry about it. All you can do is your best. Clean warm water is your best bet for keeping your guy healthy 🙂
