Took out my new surf rod the other day and when I was casting it broke right above where both parts connect. Penn warranty is giving me another rod but I was wondering if this is salvageable?

Tips, guides and grips can be replaced. Damage like this is unrepairable.

You can fix it….but the repair will be tedious and more then likely, cost more in materials then a new rod. Also, it will not look as good as the original, possibly changing the poles action as well.
If you have a manufacturer warranty, you may be able to get a replacement. I’d call and check.
