Got into fishing a little recently and saw this rod sitting in the corner of my dads shed. I think it might be my brothers old saltwater fishing rod but I’m not to sure. Is it any good for a beginner or for freshwater fishing? For context I’ve been using a cheap ozark trail rod from Walmart

Take it apart lube it up re string it and run it dude I’m sure you could catch plenty on it.
This is kinda like finding 65 Mustang in his garage. You got a classic piece of equipment. As stated – clean it, lube it , new line and your fishing. There is a learning curve to that type of reel, but you can master it.
