So I’m relatively new to fishing and I have just bought some leader line but I’m not sure how long I should make it, any help would be greatly appreciated.

That’s a niche product; I guess for casting heavy weights long distances. It’s five 15meter lengths of line that goes from 50lb test at the beginning to 15lb at the end of each strand.
I’m an avid fisherman and this is the first I’m hearing about anything tapered that isn’t for fly fishing.
You can certainly still use it though. I would cut off a 2-3ft section and use that as a leader. If you think it works best at the thin end, buy closer to 15lb leader next time. If you like the thicker sections of line, buy closer to 50lb next time.

Is that a fly fishing leader?

Hey mate!
This type of product is normally usually for surfcasting.
I usually have 0.22 in my main lines for the long casting shots and we use this type of leaders, normally 15m 0.22 to 0.55 to stand the weight of the weight we are using, which usually os 120g to 170g.
The 0.22 would break with the force.
And that’s it, if you want a normal leader you don’t need to buy this, just buy the line you want and make the length you want.
In surfcasting I use the bloodknot and for spinning an Alberto do wonders
