I’m 13 and this is my second year surf fishing. rod/reel i got from my grandfather, but it casts really nice and I love the rod. spooled with 14lb mono backing to 30lb braid. planning on getting a 50lb flouro leader. any suggestions? fishing at my grandparents house on cape cod/anywhere on cape cod

The slammer is a beast! The slammer is a beast, I’d go 30lb braid 20lb shock leader, hit the surf with some flukes, buck tails, plugs, and learn to read the surf for structure
