My guess is a Black Orchid Crowntail, but I’m not well-versed in the types as he is my first. I’ve only had him a couple of days now. When I first brought him home he seemed *almost* solid black and quite a bit duller, but the lighter parts have brightened up and gained some color quite a bit already.
I also welcome any tips! He’s in a 10 gallon tank. I am doing fish-in cycling as he was unfortunately given to me before I was really ready, but have been reading basically non-stop trying to make sure I make it as easy on him as possible.
What I’m doing:
-Daily water testing/partial changes when needed
-Using Seacham Prime and Seacham stability daily
-API Stress Coat+ if needed
-Some tannin-releasing wood that has just stayed in there
-Live aquatic plants
-A couple of floating hammock/resting areas
His name is Abraxos 🙂

He’s gorgeous!!
Idk but you should start a metal band
Very beautiful. Crowntail for sure, and that face! He has a classic, desirable grumpy Betta face.
