Hey everyone. New kayak angler here. I’ve only been fishing for about a year and decided to take on this project to get out on the water without the limitations I face on the bank.
My question is. Do y’all think I did ok with my setup? 12 foot Seastream Angler 120. Non pedal drive. No trolling motor.
I’ll be fishing a rather medium sized lake with tons of bass and the occasional channel cat. How am I going to have to adjust my approach now that I’m on a boat?

1st things 1st… make sure you get yourself a PFD! Even tho you may be intimately familiar with your spot, PFDs save lives!
Looks good to me. I never felt the need for pedals or power until I started fishing saltwater more often. My only question is whether or not you can stand in it. Some of the most fun I’ve had on the water was sight fishing during spawning season.
Get familiar with paddling first and foremost. Always check the weather and especially the wind. Try and keep things simple at first and build your kayak around what you will discover after spending time on the water. Practice flipping the boat and re-entering. You’ll learn the boats tipping point and how to handle the situation.
