Idk if it’s just bad luck or how I’m fishing, but both bass swallowed my hook and took awhile to get it out. Waited until they both swam before letting them go

Happens. Happened to me this morning. It usually happens when you wait too long to set the hook and they swallow it. Sometimes it’s hard to tell when they hit on a worm but try and keep a tight line. That helps to feel them sooner

I’m sure you a good job of removing the hooks but a bass can survive with a hook left in its throat. I just caught one the other day with a rusty hook and some line attached. I clipped off some of the excess line and sent them on its way. 😃
