Got my line stuck and ended up snapping the handle on my reel. On the upside now I can buy a new reel! I’ve fished maybe 5 times so I’m still new. What do yall recommend me replacing this with? I want to catch bass but at this point I ain’t picky for some context I’m fishing in so cal lakes. Thank you for the recommendations in advance!

That is literally my favorite budget reel😂 I’m shocked you figured out how to break it
Don’t put pressure on the reel handle if you get snagged. Lock the drag up, point the rod at the line so you don’t damage the rod and pull back pressure on the line until it breaks free.
As for the reel, you can get a new handle. No need to replace it. Check for parts online.
Just get a bigger style reel nothing crazy but the best advice I can be with snapping reel handles is breath and don’t jam on it so hard shit happen you get excited but don’t make the equipment pay for it ahah best of luck brother love!
I use Penn reels on pretty much everything, most of them are less than $50. My current “predator” rod (general purpose for larger fish like bass, pike, etc) has a Penn Pursuit that’s gone several years without any issues.
I have a Daiwa crossfire reel I think it was around $30, it’s been holding up fantastic. This will be my 2nd fishing season using it and it’s as solid as the day I first spooled it up
you can find another handle that fits, i broke one of my reels and i use a handle from another reel that fits both.
It’s basically a hammer-in pin that you broke. You can find the parts online. Daiwa makes…good…parts…
I have that same reel. I even have zip ties on there too… Man i hope the fish was worth it…
Lmaooo I have the same rod no joke. Mines still doing fine one of my fav rods
I mean its a $20 dollar piece of shit reel, wtf did you expect?
I’ve caught lots of big bass and pike on that exact reel. Ain’t never seen this yet though 😂
