Last pic is before her getting sick, I've been doing regular salt dips (epsom and aquarium salt), put tannins in the water, and haven't fed her more than one small flake a day. kanaplex is absolutely out of question it's impossible or really expensive to get in Europe. The only treatment I have is eSha that doesn't seem to do anything. ☹️ She either floats like in the picture or burries herself deep in the plants. She's not active and seems to barely eat day by day

Water temperature is always around 24-25°C occasional small water changes (should I do a big one?). Parameters I'll test them and put them in the comments (I don't have an Ammonia test though). But pleeeease help she's really dear to me I've literally seen her grow up and she's been with me for a little over one year

You’ll need to go to a vet for meds if you’re serious about treatment and don’t have access to meds yourself. Edema fluid in fish commonly contains a gram negative bacteria called aeromonas.

There are things you can do at home to help with discomfort (epsom salt baths) but dropsy is only a symptom, not a disease. The diseases that cause dropsy are typically bacterial in nature, but they can also be fungal or parasitic– all require meds to treat though. Epsom salt (not aquarium salt) is a good pain reliever and will help draw fluid out of the body.

Also editing to add: are you certain the scale “lifting” is something new, and not just her normal scale texture? Reason for asking is because many betta do have a visible scale texture, and what I’m seeing here is indistinguishable from a scale texture that could possibly be normal. She definitely has fin rot though which is usually an indication of water quality issues. You need to get a water test kit that has a test for ammonia, don’t use test strips. Dropsy doesn’t always cause the behavioral issues you’re describing either.

  2. This does not look like dropsy. Just looks a little chunky and very textured scales
